Hydra Star Denial

TH18 anti 2 star trophy base built to punish air attacks and especially Hydra style entries in the current Dragon Duke meta. The Town Hall sits in the center as the main island core with the Monolith directly above it and the Clan Castle directly below, creating a layered central section that is hard to collapse quickly. At the bottom of the base, a compartment holds the Revenge Tower deeper inside with 2 Multi Archer Towers on the sides for balanced splash and single-target pressure, while the Dragon Duke and Barbarian King add extra air and ground coverage around that section. On the lower left and lower right, 2 compartments place the Air Defenses and air-ground X-Bows deeper inside, with Ricochet Cannons positioned more toward the outside to punish side movement. On the left and right flanks, the base uses splitting compartments with 2 Firespitters aimed toward the upper middle, while Super Wizard Towers on the outer lanes help force troops to path around the outside instead of cutting cleanly through the middle. On the upper left and upper right, 2 Rage Spell Tower compartments boost Scattershots, Ricochet Cannons, the same Firespitters and Multi Infernos while stacked Giant Bombs add heavy trap punishment. At the very top, another compartment holds a deeper Lava Launcher with ground X-Bows, a Multi Inferno and a short-range Multi Gear Tower. This makes top-side air entries look tempting at first, but troops often end up flying around the core instead of through it, which creates a very real 1 star risk. If players attack from the bottom instead, they often spend too many spells before even reaching the upper Rage Tower compartments, which makes this a very strong anti air trophy layout.

Strengths

  • Anti Hydra core routing

    The Town Hall, Monolith and Clan Castle island core makes air troops circle around the center instead of cutting cleanly through it, creating real 1 star risk.

  • Raged upper punish

    Both upper Rage Spell Tower compartments boost Scattershots, Ricochet Cannons, Firespitters and Multi Infernos while stacked Giant Bombs punish grouped entries.

  • Bottom spell drain setup

    Bottom-side attacks are pressured early by the Revenge Tower section, heroes and deeper Air Defenses, often forcing too many spells before the upper core is reached.

  • Side split control

    The flank structure with Firespitters aimed to the upper middle and outer Super Wizard Towers forces awkward splits and pushes troops around the outside lanes.
